Endangered Alphabets Word Search Puzzles!
Today is the official launch day of our book of Endangered Alphabets Word Search Puzzles, and I must say, we’re pretty jazzed.
This is the latest manifestation of my belief that the best way to introduce someone to a new language or script is through games: 20 puzzles in 11 scripts ancient and modern from Abenaki to Vai, all guaranteed to challenge you in unfamiliar ways and make your eyes curiously reluctant to focus. Some serious points in the Introduction, too, about what the puzzles suggest about how we process visual information, and what it’s like to be in a culture that has a minority or suppressed script.
This is also the time to give a huge shout-out of thanks to our sponsoring partner RWS Moravia, a major language services industry company, that helped us massively with the development costs of the book.
