This commission, for Dave Wilson of Sterling Hardwoods, features the lovely and imaginative roundel calligraphy of Tashi Mannox. It may come as no surprise that the two circles enscript the Tibetan words for “Moon” and “Water.”

Tibet is a region that lies north-east of the Himalayas, geographically set on a plateau.

This piece was a gift, but a similar carving can be commissioned. All sales of carvings support the non-profit work of the Endangered Alphabets Project. Twenty percent of all profits go to Rokpa International, supporting sick and homeless children in the Himalayas. To order, or to inquire about commissions, email brookes@champlain.edu.
