Two New Tibetans

My last post showed the first two of a series of three carvings I have been doing based on calligraphy by the Tibetan master Urgyen. He sent me three words in his fine scripts: Love, Peace, and Prosperity. Here is Prosperity, carved in amazing flame mahogany:

Thinking in these terms got me inspired in a different way. Having recently met Maggie Schneider of Dover, NH, and learned that her yoga and massage studio is called Half Moon Yoga, I took the Tibetan word for “moon,” here written in ideographic calligraphy by Tashi Mannox, and carved it in walnut and maple, painting each half in a different color paint. The result looks a lot like this:
